first day street bumming it.

Woodstock Street Festival in Portland! March Fourth, one of my favorite bands, was in the parade...they make me full of happiness. A guy bought me 2 eggrolls and icetea (randomly) because he thought i was going hungry? Still unsure about that one. Some other street venders were a little snobby but my friends at Ace Hardware were so sweet and let me set up right infront of their store. I passed out a lot of business cards, kids would come up and watch me work on earrings, and I sold one small pair! :) Older people thought they were too expensive, hipsters wanted to make their own, and teenagers wanted all the bright colored ones. So I definately learned a few things.

I'm hoping to tackle a few more streets this next week since I have earrings made, so wish me luck!

Favorite moment: a 5yr old walks by and tells her mom as she looks at the earrings, "mom! I think I need to pierce my ears so I can wear feathers!"

selling |contests| hoarding.

EARRINGS ARE SELLING IN CALIFORNIA. I am so happy to announce that my fabulous Mother has been partnering with me to distribute and sell byKels' earrings around the Central Coast of CA. Because of this opportunity for byKels, all energy has been put into sending the earrings away instead of online or local sales. Do not fear, we will have 4 collections to be revealed online in AUGUST.

So I (kelsea) have a confession to make. I love hoarding. I don't think it's needless really, but when I'm conversing on the telephone about my struggles in just making tons and tons of earrings, the truth arises... I want to keep them all. I have beads, cloth, and items galore that I would so love to bestow on the most welcome recipient, but when I sit in my small apartment alone and stare at the beauty of possibility the thought of making it and never seeing it again pulls at my heart. Or perhaps I'm just a hoarder. So this weeks goal is to give away to you all the beautiful things I have, by crafting them together into gloriousness...and letting you take them away.
